The Asia Petrochemical Industry Conference
(APIC) is an annual
conference organised to promote mutual friendship and
goodwill among the petrochemical industry players in
the world, as well as the sound development of the
petrochemical industry in the region.
Since its inception under its former name the East Asia
Petrochemical Industry Conference (EAPIC) in 1979, the APIC has been a major forum that annually attracts participation
of hundreds of senior corporate executives in the petrochemical
industry. The conference is an effective venue, which facilitates
exchange of information, sharing of issues, as well as accommodates
business networking.
The APIC is organised by its Steering Committee consists of 7
national organisations representing petrochemical industry of
their respective countries:-
1) Chemical
and Petrochemical Manufacturers Association of India (CPMA)
2) Japan Petrochemical Industry Association (JPCA)
3) Korea Petrochemical Industry Association (KPIA)
4) Malaysian Petrochemicals Association (MPA)
5) Petrochemical Industry Association of Taiwan (PIAT)
6) Federation of Thai Industries Petrochemical Industry Club
(FTIPC)
7) Singapore Chemicals Industry Council (SCIC)
The JPCA, KPIA and PIAT are the founding members of APIC
/ EAPIC while the MPA, SCIC and FTIPC joined the grouping
since 2002. CPMA was accepted as a member of the Steering
Committee in Year 2001.
The objective of the Conference is to promote mutual friendship
and communication among the persons engaged in the petrochemical
industries of Asia and thereby contribute to the sound
growth of the petrochemical industries in the Region (Asia
area extending from Pakistan of the West End and to Japan
of the East End).
The term of the chairperson of the Steering Committee shall
be one (1) year and shall be selected from the members
by rotation.
The organization that hosts the Conference shall serve as
the secretariat of the Conference.
